Welcome to Memetic Musings

An exploration of memes and memetics, or to the unfamiliar: ideas and the physics behind them. How they spread, replicate and evolve.

Memes are more than just funny pictures of videos they are ideas, behaviours, methods and more that spreads by means of imitation from person to person. Memeplexes are complex ideas are mutually supporting memes.

Unfortunately currently there is a little to no research or information on this topic. And the information out there currently is lacklustre at best. There’s even less information on memetic warfare. War by any memes necessary.

This frustration is what lead me to create this Substack. The culmination of years of reading and research.

Why Subscribe?

You will be supporting truly groundbreaking research and discussion. Memetics has recently come back into vogue, however, it has laid abandoned for years. There currently is no unified theory or fundamental principles of memetics.

I intend to change that.

I have been writing about memes and memetics since 2017 and am asking for your help to continue this unique research into uncharted territory. This along with several other projects, is an attempt to revive and navigate this field.

Behind the paywall will be:

  • New insights into memes, memetics and crowd dynamics

  • Examples and breakdowns of memetics in action

  • The latest memetic warfare research

  • Recommended resources

  • and more

How is this Different than Mercurial Space?

Many of you may know me from my other newsletter about the changing meta paradigms of our age and navigating them. This is a separate newsletter and project from Mercurial Space.

This is entirely focused on memetics. It is therefore far more theoretical and abstract. It also aims to be more rigorous than the research or books currently available. Because of this postings of this newsletter will occur far less often.

You can subscribe to one, the other or both. If you want to be a paid subscriber to both you can will receive a discount.
